SECTIONF8 Sabre released !

wow.........alrighty then. Had someone responded to my previous 3 posts I might have worded the question better.

Thanks for taking the time to respond this time around.

Jan....THANK YOU!!!!!!! for putting up the paint kit at AVSIM. I'll be sure to use it in the coming days...thank you again!

Hi !

I just had a quick go at a German F-86 (Canadair CL-13 actually...) of the Fighter Wing 72 at Oldenburg AB. It would later be changed to FBW 43 and they took delivery of the Fiat G-91 and the Alphajet.

I know it is far from perfect, but it is hard to come up with something really great, as I only found one picture to work with...and it was a b/w picture. :isadizzy:
The anti glare coating on the nose needs adjustment and I can't figure out the right size of the iron crosses on the lower surface of the wings.

Hope you can live the result....

A couple of suggested corrections to the RCAF Sabre in the skins pack.
1. Cut and paste 'adian Air Force' to correct the spelling of 'Canadian'.
2. "Mirror" the Red Ensign flag on the right, or starboard side of the vertical tail [the upside down one in fuse_1_t.bmp] to put the Union Jack towards the leading edge.
The 413 'Tusker' Squadron repaint is a work in progress - that may never get completed. Despite considerable research, I have yet to find a colour photo to confirm the shade of blue in the slash, and the correct colour of the maple leaf in the crest. Some say red, some say green.

Thank you to the SectionF8 crew for a magnificent aircraft!

The glareshield has been adjusted.
Don't see anything else wrong with it... :redf:

Any hints by the pros in here, please?!
If you guys see anything that isn't correct, please send me a pm.

Very nice bully707! BTW, are you planning the camo version with the tulip nose?

Thank you DFA !

Unfortunately not...I'm not playing in that league.
I'm still in the minor league and will leave it to the real pros in repainting.

Frank Felix is already working on the JG71 bird, in full cammo and the tulip paint of Hartmann. :applause::applause::applause:

That will be awesome!!!

Minor league? Ahh comon! You do fine work in which I wish I had such skill!
Am looking forward to your paint and I hope many more for this great model.

OK...that is enough! :costumes:

I have adjusted the iron crosses on the wings and fuselage to be more like the real thing...plus used a different wing crest on the fuselage.
For the real thing (the early, polished, Sabres of the 72nd FW) I couldn't find any footage of them sporting the crest on the fuselage but the later, camouflaged ones did.

So this is, let's say "semi fictional"...
Here's what I went by...courtesey of www-bw-flyers.de:

File is being zipped up as we speak and will be uploaded within the next hour...
You all have yourself a nice weekend!!

:wavey:

To Thunderbolt,

Your picture of Nov 7th looks sooo real! Are you using FS9 or FSx? It really looks like a photo.

P.S. THANKS DESIGN TEAM AT SECTIONF8 FOR THIS FREEWARE. This is the coolest most immersive plane I ever flown.

Hi there!

Sorry for the inconvenience but I have an update to my repaint.
I have changed the rescue stencils on the fuselage.

Look out for the update here at SOH.
