• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Westland Whirlwind

It seems that I have copies of the two files that were made available through dropbox in post 26 of this thread, although I have no idea who the author was as there is very little supporting documentation in only one of the files, and none in the other. The main file is 172 MB so I do not think that sending it by email would be practical, but I may be able to upload the files to dropbox and post a link here at the weekend. If so, I will post the two links here at that time,

Great! Thank you!

Cees

I have succeeded in uploading the two files from post 26 of this thread to dropbox. These links should allow you to download a copy of the files using the download icon at the top of each page. Please note that there is very little documentation included in the files – also that I cannot offer any support for these files other than in making them available again.

I would appreciate it if you would add a reply here if you try to download either of the files, whether the download was successful or not. Thanks in advance . . .

I just grabbed the first file (I don't run TacPack) and will give it a try and compare it to the other two Whirlwinds I have in my P3D back-up hangar. I will let you know how I get on.

As Cees said "Wow"! I now have three different versions of the Whirlwind in P3D v4.5 and I think I like this one the best. I had to do a little bit of work to add my usual pop-up panels, swap the prop textures and change the nav light positions but she's a keeper after that little bit of work. I've not enjoyed a Whirlwind so much since having Ito's in FS9!

Thanks very much for your feedback, and happy to know that all the downloads succeeded - you are all very welcome.

FYI, I am planning on deleting the links in two days on Saturday (30th).

It is indeed a beautiful payware quality aircraft, thanks for sharing!

After a quick and error free McX conversion to FSX, I can fly it with almost no issue (gunsight not showing, no big deal).

Why not upload it to the SOH library for all to enjoy? The original developper seems to have moved on, and FSX/P3D is considered now a dead end. Those two facts are good incentive to release this Whirlwind as freeware, don't you think?

I did not create the files which I listed in post 82 of this thread, as I have said several times. That means that I do NOT have permission to upload them here or anywhere else. And given the history of their creation, I doubt if it would be easy to obtain permisiion if someone was to try to get that permission. Nor do I have the capability of converting it for FSX as you have done, whether for myself or anyone else.

FYI, I have deleted the files listed in post 82 from dropbox, so those links are no longer active.
