SECTIONF8 Sabre released !

Silver repaint

I'm hoping someone will do a "painted silver" paint kit. The photoreal just doesn't cut it for me.

In case you missed it: :ipepsi2:

On Sim-Outhouse there is a special "painted silver" texture set which is entirely different
from the photoreal set that came with the original download. In addition to receiving a
new paint job, it also comes with completely reworked panel lines and rivets.

Thanks Thud! I hope that this kit used for this will be released. To me this looks much more flightsimmy to me...if you know what I mean. Still a couple spots I'd adjust but this is much more appealing to my artistic pain in the ass eyes. :costumes:

b_24, part of what you said was "what Wyatt Fuller's beautiful F-86 looked like". Does this mean that they are not around any more?
I hope that one of you expert repainters will bring this one to life in the sim world.

Wyatt Fuller was killed and his F-86F destroyed while attempting to takeoff from Hickory, NC on 24 July 2006.

My good friend Wyatt Fuller was killed while attempting to takeoff in that F-86F on 24 July 2006.

Thud.....so sorry to hear this.
Are you a VN Thud pilot? I am a Army Aviation Vet. VN 1962/63 U1A Otter.

Yes I was. Sometimes it really is a small world so I hope you don't mind my asking the question but while in the Army did you know Terry Morris? Terry and I go back a few years and he flew the UH-1 and AH-1G in RVN. Ha, he won a chest full of medals but got shot down seven times to earn them. :costumes:

Thud...no I did not know Terry. Army aircraft that have an "H" are slingwings. Never had anything to do with them, they really can't fly you know, fixed wing for me. Most of our duty was to fly Army Special Forces and their RVN troops to their base camps, bring them supplies, and get them out when things got tough.
Sorry everyone, this off the subject of the F-86.

Have to agree with you skyhawk~ Cliff's texture set has a more "military" look to it and would be a great place to start if you wanted to add that "broke-in" look. JV's paintkit looks great too, especially for show birds, and there's definately a place for both, what with all the restored Sabres now flying.

Camo rolled out!

Dear fellows!

My first camoed ship is in the air by now!

After countless hours of paint-slapping, fixing, cursing and into-the-desk-biting, it's the "JC+106" of Jagdgeschwader 73, available at AVSIM.
Look for sabre_jc106.zip .

Any comments and suggestions to improve my basic repainting skills will be very appreciated!
Please keep in mind that this repaint represents my first released attempt of an 'over all' repaint (and not just 'pasting some patches', as the JA+111 did), so I'm - compared to others - still in the beginner's class...

My projects on the camoed 'JA+111' and the target-tug 'D-9538' will be rolled out soon, so please be patient.

Hey... Thunderbolt... I've been wondering about those shark drop-tanks you posted awhile back in this thread... what repaint are those on?
