As the nature of things progress...

The new panel is great!

(By that I mean the VC panel, as it appears that the 2D is still unfinished.)

Good work, as always!

Would be awesome if we could, Keith. :)

Mr Magoo has been pretty stretched with RW work commitments lately, but I'm sure he'll take a look when he has the opportunity.

Just tried the sound file for the Mongoose fitted to the 621 & no sound! Individual wav files OK. ( I have no speakers fitted - so usually I do not put headset on - hence not commented before!)
Lynx engined versions work fine. Had a quick look in the sound cfg & there appears to be nothing obviously wrong that I can see - am I the only one to have this problem?

Lynx shutdown sound is quite long, but then the prop stopping appears to be quite short to me. Not much rattling one hears in some other sound files on shutdown DH Gipsy for example.

Keith: could you check that the aircraft cfg. entries and sound folder names coincide? No one else has reported this issue. :)

Keith: could you check that the aircraft cfg. entries and sound folder names coincide? No one else has reported this issue. :)

All aircraft.cfg entries say 'sound='. Sound.cfg files define the engine type, AS Mongoose, AS Lynx, etc, but nowhere else are the engine types stated (except in the Descriptions).
Have relooked at the Mongoose Sound .cfg & noted that in the Mongoose listing the [Combustion] numbering sequence is missing [COMBUSTION.1.04] & its link. Could that be the problem? There is though a very feint background noise when engine is started. No sound either in FSX.
PWS-18 sound is OK, as is the Lynx.

That bad COMBUSTION entry should never have happened - the funny thing is that it played normal on my system!!! :)

I will distribute the revised sound.cfg tomorrow - in the meantime, here is the corrected text entry:

Negative 621 sound for me either. I thought it was my naivete'. All other versions are A-Ok.

:cheerful:My thanks go out to all who work on this project.

That's weird... it played fine on my system too, a nice catch, nonetheless...:applause:

Same for me no engine sound on the Tutor.Mongoose sound that is.

Cheers Chris

Thank you all for the feedback, Gentlemen. :)

2 bad entries by my part:

1). Incorrect sound cfg. sequence.

2). Aircraft cfg. / sound=/ entry alignment has carried over from my external sound folder directory entry
Entries shown in Red should be deleted.

My apologies to Team - NEW replacement Aircraft cfg. files and Mongoose Sound folders will be distributed sometime today.

Many thanks to Keith for highlighting the issue. :encouragement:

Copied & pasted new cfg, but still not triggering on engine start - all is quiet! :-(

BTW listened to the xshutdown wav sounds good, how about using that sound from inside the aircraft, at the moment its too quiet!

_avro_621

Update correcting _AVRO_621 sound issues has now been sent to all Test team members. :)

For good measures, I have replaced the Mongoose sound folder in its entirety.
If anyone is experiencing similar sound issues with the AVRO_646_Sea Tutor (early version only!!!), I would recommend the sound folder be replaced with the update.

Many Thanks,
Nigel

Always thought that the sounds were still a work in progress... so I left this one alone. But there is a slight difference in the way the 621 sounds after installing the update..... Going to have a chat with the young lads at the "Service Hangar" about this. :biggrin-new:

BB686:US-flag:

The 621 now has sound. Thanks. By the way, the Avros in general have the best Doppler effect during fly-bys of any of the fs9 aircraft I have installed.

Nigel, Thank you for latest update - works beautifully. Funny, Early Sea Tutor sound works OK without this update!
Keith

Sincere thanks to all for the quick feedback, Gentlemen; :)

I'd better get back to readying the Prefect variants and PWS-18 for testing round 2. :wavey:

Nigel, I haven't found a Mongoose sound folder in the update, nor in the extant aircraft. I must have missed an update soemwhere, when did you add that?

Sascha; It is there, but the big difference is the removal of the 'AS Mongoose' from the 'sound=' heading in the aircraft.cfg.

Nigel re: the prop/sound sync referred to earlier for the 621 with Mongoose, I can now confirm, listening from the outside, that the prop stops when the xshutdown wav finishes. My problem is that it needs more volume & I don't know how to fix that. I must admit that I have substituted the xshutdown wav for the shutdown wav from the VC view.....naughty of me! Have yet to check the other engines.
Keith

Correct; 'sound' folder in today's update, IS the revised Mongoose sound pack.

Re: xshutdown - we'll boost the sound to make it more audible, but I'll keep the fine tuning until James takes a look at the shutdown sequence vs Air.file.
