AT-11 Beta This Week

Thanks for the info sir. No problemo. I was at twinbeech.com doing a bit of searching. There are only three of the AT-11s that have been restored if I recall correctly. One of the schemes had the red/white stripes of the tail. The one you refer to must be in hiding as I didn't see any reference to the scheme in a photo

This is the only one I've encountered..

This is the AT-11 in question, M83, preliminary textures awaiting review and approval. You can look up the owner. :)

Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm. The beta was for a limited audience as I can only handle so much feedback and conversation and maintain focus and sanity. :) Hang in there and we will get you a more ready-for-prime-time example. :)
No prob Milton, I'll be looking forward to it. I do love the shiny metal finish in the beta screenshots! :d

Okay, the civil version is started. I dropped the Turret, the bombs, racks, radios and bomb sight, all the instruments in the nose, and changed the spinners ... now for some questions.

Do I lose the bomb doors? How about the nose door?

Should I drop the elevated platform between the bomb racks and go for a flat floor throughout?

I've been following this pretty close and I have been drooling all over the keyboard in anticipation of the release. The screen shots are excellent. This will definately be a keeper for me, and I have told myself many times that I have too many planes for FS9 already...lol! Thanks Milton, she looks like a real beauty. I can't wait to fly her.

You can never have too many planes for FS9...just not enough installs of the sim to house them all. I currently have 3 very well populated installs. One for GA planes, one for Vintage Military and one for Modern Military.

I guess it depends if your converting it for passenger or cargo.

In both cases I would leave the nose door and drop the platform. If I were hauling (or dropping) cargo I would leave the bomb doors. If I were adding seats and hauling passengers I would lose the bomb door.

Mr. Shupe:

For what its worth, here is my 2 cents!!

Put a flat floor in and that way it can either go cargo or passenger - just have to throw in some seats - maybe just a couple!

Leave the doors - both front entrance and bay doors. If there is enough room between the floor and the bay doors, leave a couple of bombs in there - good conversation piece when on display at a show!! All the rest of the stuff you mentioned can be removed as you indicated.

regards;

Bill

All I can say is I am flying the thing everywhere. In both FS9 and FSX, highly recommended for FSX too, works like a charm, just apply the two replacement textures.

Can't wait until the final version Milton, it is all such a beauty, looks better in FSX than FS9 even. Really haven't noticed that much of a frame hit either, as I do with many port overs, so it stay, made me a thumbnail even.

Wow Milton, somehow you always know how to amaze me. The first AT-11 is not yet finished and you already start a new one. Highly appreciated, but where should I find the time to fly them all? Please remember we are not all retired here ;)

Thanks for your devotion however,
Huub

I am not retired either Huub ... but I must await the gauge changes we need, so .... :wiggle:

Milton,
I have two questions, how do I get the AT-11, since the Tigercat and AT-11 are on their way, so whats next on the list or maybe updating some?

The future Civie version is coming along. I cleaned up the cabin and nose, replaced the prop spinners, rebuilt the fuselage roof to cover the turret hole, and remapped all the exterior. Not sure what else to do here now on this unless Peteham gets more info on the photo mapping unit. I sent the revised mapping to Damian.

I will also do a turretless version of the military ilk for the many trainers that had none, at Damian's request. That should open up a lot of repaint possibilities.

Damian is hiking the Alps this weekend but said he will work on the paint kit Monday. :applause:

Still awaiting gauge updates from Scott as he is out this weekend.

That cleaned up nicely Milton. Not much room for seating in them is there. A few zig-zaggity staggeration I suppose
