Great looking repaints Stephan! Beantown Banshee has long been one of my favorites as well. Throughout researching the P-51B/C, that one always popped up. On "Satan's Son", for the time being, you can exchange the antenna texture with the one that Princess Elizabeth uses, contained within the P-51C_1_T.bmp, so as to match the correct modeled antenna. The paintkit will allow you to easily switch between one antenna or the other, depending on what model you choose to use.
Thank you for pointing out that 'emergency' miss-spelling as well. It obviously was overlooked, being as small as it is. The larger emergency canopy release placard needed to be revised after I had originally spelled it wrong as well. I am typically very good at spelling, but this one word gives me more trouble than most for some reason - I guess to me there just shouldn't be that many e's. I have corrected this for the paintkit, and somehow I will get an update out which will cover all variants.

And they ar nice modells, regard the ages.

To Stephan, and others who will be making repaints, if you are adding a ring of color around the nose, like most squadrons did, you can also add this color to the intake lip as well, a partial way in, which was common practice. You can see this within several of the paint schemes, such as Princess Elizabeth, contained within the P-51C_1_T textures. Use the same dimensions that I used for this, and it will turn out correctly, and it should look more the part.

It's a quality a/c that has loads of potential for beautiful repaints. I think it will be one of those aircraft that will hold-up under the test of time in terms of fly-a-bility. I beleive it will be a go-to Pony for quite some time.
And given Bomber's love of the project and historical accuracy, it'll be around for as long as you want to keep FS09 or FSX on the harddrive!

Everything will be easier when the paintkit will be available but I can already say that this plane is a real pleasure to paint.

Dern it... I had planned on buying this from the moment it was announced, long before I had a job or any money to spend on anything, just to support JT, regardless of quality.
Prices made me shrink.
Epsillons screenshots did me in... and I spent more than I can currently afford on it.
And...
for once, being and idiot paid off.
There is one word to describe this plane.
HEAVEN
this plane is clearly worth far more than the asking price.
and performance is legendary... ~55 FPS in exterior, ~30 in VC with my rig as posted in my signature.

Observations & Comparisons
I was trying to do some brief comparisons between my A2A (Shockwave) Mustangs and (yes, I finally bought the P-51C Fighter Pairs) Princess Elizabeth this morning.
1. Was there a fuselage center tank fuel gauge in the 'C'? I don't see one in the Warbird Sim P-51C.
2. I miss the mouse over information utilized in the A2A birds.
3. Using same fuel and armament (comparably), the controls on the Warbird Sim birds seem rather 'touchy'. I use a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback II stick without the force feedback option engaged.
4. The propeller animations are odd in that the prop comes to a stand still then rotates again down to stop.
5. I love the forward stick to taxi and turn option in the Warbird Sim Mustangs. Works well. I also like the tail wheel lock (shift+G) in the A2A Mustangs on takeoff....
6. I miss the 2D pop-ups for light panel, mixture, ignition, trim, etc. missing from the Warbird Sim Mustangs.
I mused over the cost (in US Dollars) of the Warbird Sim Mustangs but really wanted to fly and compare this product with what we have had available to us in the past. The cost was a bit steep for two liveries (in MY estimation) and without a long track record. I am expecting some upgrades to come for my purchase, and see that John is working on some at this time.
Albert, Stephane and John, thank you for your fine efforts and I will continue to fly and enjoy what I have while you are working on some 'kinks' to upgrade us on.

There is a fuselage tank in the B and C models that have been recreated for this release. Same as the D, it holds 85 U.S. gallons. There is no modeled indicator within the VC, because it is so far back behind the pilot in real life. You can access the fuselage tank gauge through the Shift+3 pop-up. To present the user with a fuselage tank indicator, the A2A P-51D has one, but it is moved up to a foot and a half forward of where it should be. I could have done this as well, but with the overly large armor plate found in the fast-back Mustangs, you would still not be able to see it clearly. I recommend that as long as you are flying casually, or especially going to be doing advanced maneuvers, don't carry any fuel in the fuselage tank. I typically fly with 45 gallons in each wing tank, and this is safe for a flight of up to an hour to and hour and a half, depending on your fuel management.
The only tooltip information which isn't present in the VC is on the gauges themselves. With so many other tooltips within the cockpit, I decided to remove them from the gauges, so that there would be somewhere that would be tooltip free - without tooltips getting in the way.

Thanks so much for your explanation. I did see the fuel guage pop (shft+3) and must have disregarded this in my post. I also usually fly with only 5 gal. in the center tank for stability reasons. Unless a long flight that I need the fuel and can run off of it first.
The lack of tool tips on the guages is not really missed...

Has anyone landed this ship without severe bouncing? This beauty is quite a challenge to land smartly. I spent a lot of time figuring out how to land these tail dragging torque monsters, and I even got to the point where I can land Gnoopey’s P-47, and the FDG2 Corsair in pretty good three point landing with almost no bounce.
Normally, there seems to be an optimal speed at which a three-point landing occurs right at or near stall speed, resulting in a comforting thud, and no more flying… It feels great when you can pull it off well. Haven’t been able to do it yet in this plane, although I’m having a lot of fun trying!
With this plane, I’m either going too slow, which results in the tail wheel hitting first, which results in a huge bounce when the mains slam down, or I’m too fast, in which case I bounce way up when the ship does hit, or my rate of descent is too high, in which I also bounce too much.
I tried landing with the center tank empty, thinking that may be the problem. After all, that center tank, being so far aft, is legendary… But it didn’t seem to help much. It’s a work in progress. Landing tips are welcomed!
