The traditional post here if you are up and running P3

nvidia graphics.
same exe made no difference to a friends so each must try it and see.
pd

Even though I wasn't having many issues at all (tweaked the game settings), the exe PD sent me appears to have made things even better (eg. the slow downs I had previously experienced with the BrisFits seems to be minimized now)... anyway, it certainly hasn't hurt (AMD Opteron, dual core for me).

Thanks! :wavey:

OFF P3 finally lands in France

Now, I can fly and P3 looks awesome ! But it was very diffiult to set it up on my french WinXP (issue with regional settings:banghead:). Clearly OFF is worth the trouble!!!

i can now post here!!!
phase-3 has setteled down to a variety of tweeks and is now behaveing with relatively few stutters.
the duel core cfs-3 exe was what fixed it for me.
anyone wishing for this WITH A DUEL CORE SYSTEM ONLY please email me and i will shoot it over.
if there are a lot of you out there i will ask permission to upload the file here.
PD

Hi PD, is it a exe that has been rebuilt or something or converted (I think there's an ms tool that can do that?)

Up and running! No problems whatsoever. Everything worked slicker'n snot on a doorknob! Congratulations to the OFF team on a truly outstanding product.

I've been playing around with the settings today and it's running really smoothly now.
  • From the Workshops BHH Config program I set the res to 1680x1050 32bit color with the max 8x antialiasing.
  • In Nevida I set Anisotropic filtering to 2x
Antialiasing to "over ride" and 8xQ setting
    Texture filtering anisotropic - ON
    Texture filtering - "quality"
Texture filtering LOD Bias - "allow"
    Tripple buffering "On"
    Vertical Sync "force on"
The last two settings I'm still experimenting with.. I also set the config program parameter editor "Texture Info" page "Full Screen Swap Effect" radio button to the VSYNC choice.
  • In the Workshops BHH config program I set all settings as in the FAQ
and for the Image quality page I used: Aircraft-5, Terrain & Scenery-3, Effects & Clouds-4
I'm getting fps averaging around 40 and as high as 60 with very little stuttering.
BHH is really fantastic.. can't believe the improvements in all areas!

Another thing I did that I now know makes a huge difference was turning off a lot of the background running tasks. I use a program called "The Ultimate Trouble Shooter" (click here) which makes it easy and explains each task.

My system is mid/high and I haven't tried over clocking yet. Parky helped me pick it out about a year and a half ago. The MSI MOB went bad and I recently replaced it with the Gigabyte.

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R ATX LG775 MOB
Intel core 2 duo E6600 2.4ghz
Patriot Extreme 2gb DDR2 800 SDRAM
Antec Trio TP3-650w ATX12v PS
EVGA PCIEx GeForce 8800gts 320mb
SB Audigy 2ZS
Windows XP Pro SP3
2x WD Sata HD 3gb 16mb cache
SATA DVD/CD R/RW

Noticed your settings include v-sync forced on. Just to mention, I'm running an Evga GTX 260 216 core card and initially I was running with the default Nvidia Control Panel v-sync set to "Use 3D Application Setting" and even though OFF doesn't have a v-sync on/off option (at least I haven't found one) my frame rates appeared locked at 60 max no matter what I tried to boost the fps. Once I selected v-sync "Force Off" in the Nvidia control panel my max frame rates jumped above 100 once airborne. You might give this a try to see if it helps with your frame rate.

(I have my sliders at max except for terrain and scenery set to 3).

Also up and running , Ordered on the 22nd and received the game today , it installed without a problem and patched also without any problems .
I have for the last half hour been doing touch and go's in the BE 2 , i think i'll need surgery to remove my smile for serious occasions :)
my system is Vista 64 .
This Gentlemen is a beautiful thing , thankyou .
cheers

Ordered 23rd jan, arrived today 3rd feb. Everything done without a hitch, three kills on my very first flight (a QM). So far worth every penny of the £54. :)

Thanks, am not familiar with what all of these do, but have been trying different combinations to see what happens, will try you suggestions.

In the OFF (CFS3) config program parameter editor, available through the Workshops. Select the "Texture Info" page and look at the choices in the "Full Screen Swap Effect" you can select the radio button to turn on the VSYNC.

Where might I find the OFF config program parameter editor? If you mean the CFS3 button in Workshop, the only options I have are setting the sliders and screen resolution.

Up and running! Perfect installation process. I wish some of the large studios and publisher will take a look at it. Runs nearly smooth with the ATI settings mentioned in the forum.

Immersive with TRIR4 pro!!

You did a great job!!!!

Up and running on the 28th of Jan but only had time to really play tonight. It's been a long time since a 3 vs 3 dogfight made 20 minutes disappear and left the adrenalin-fueled "What a ride" feeling lol!

OFF: BHAH is king of the combat sims in my book!

Where you see those sliders, at the top of the box there's a menu item 'Windows'. Click on that and further panels are available.

Ordered 21 Jan but no sign yet. Hope it's not stuck somewhere in the snow...

EDIT: Just arrived on my desk! I KNEW there was a good reason to make the trek to work today!!!!

Roll on going home time...

Oh I do love this game... I like the way the plane flies , the guns jam, and the engines stop :ernae: Is it meant to be this good?

Look in the FAQ.. here's the path:

In OFF Workshops open the CFS3 (OFF) Config program Paramater Editor.
Click on File Menu --> Custom Settings.. OK button --> Window Menu --> Texture Information --> All Screen Swap Effect --> choose the VSYNC radio button .. OK button --> File Menu --> Exit (do NOT exit using the close window red X)

Please report back with your results.. I tried last night to turn VSYNC completely OFF in Navida, as you suggested, and it either decreased or didn't seem to make any difference in fps in game, hard to tell though.

Got 'er

Got P3 in record time (I live just up the coast from California) and install went well. All I can say is WOW!....a hundred times, no a thousand times, how about a thousand times!

Finally arrived. Now up and running. Haven't had a chance really fly it yet. Looks good.

I don't know if that's a record or not. I ordered Friday, Jan 30th and the DVD was in the box on Monday, Feb 2nd, and I live in South Carolina!

Got mine installed last Tuesday. Happy with it. Learning lots about CFS3/OFF3. I only messed with CFS3 for a few hours before OFF3 came out. I was waiting for it.

I am up and running for my first day and a long night. Very pleased overall except for having to hand edit altitudes and panels in the mission builder. Wish someone would make a really good builder. Sweeteye
